Templeton Game

The girls traveled to Templeton yesterday and a hockey game broke out.  The game was fairly physical with several starters missing minutes do to bruises and scrapes.  This provided the opportunity for the bench to step up and they did.  Krystal Yasay was player of the game after assuming the point guard duties from Maddie Fryer and Phoebe Knighton.  She led the 7th grade to a 19 tio 10 victory over the Eagles.

The 8th grade game was less of a challenge, the girls coasted to a 42 to 3 victory.  Hannah Haas was player of the game for a great all around performance.

Update February

Boys Volleyball tryouts get underway today.  Show up to the gym from 3 pm to 5 pm you are interested in making the team.

Girls' basketball played well against Paulding last night.  The 7th grade team struggled with passing from the get go, and had several turnovers in the 1st half of play.  Still they kept the game close and never trailed by more than 10 points.  With under a minute to go, Phoebe Knighton, the player of the game, hit a clutch basket to give the Lions their first lead of the game.  Kaylee Garcia pitched in 12 points as the Lions picked up their 2nd win against the Patriots.

The 8th grade team came out on fire, and built a lead behind Grace Hotaling's 15 points.  However Paulding never stopped fighting and closed the gap to six point in the 4th quarter.  Just as the Patriots seized momentum, player of the game Emme Haas took the ball the length of the court for a lay up, then turned around and forced a turn over to stop the Patriots Rally.

Great job ladies,  Good teams play well most of the time, but great teams play well in crunch time.
